My work is inspired by plants within the urban environment. Through my research, I looked at clinging plants such as vines, Spanish moss, and lichen. These plants are all known to take over and commandeer the environment in which they grow.

The embroidered vines pour out of holes in the plate, slowly taking over the surface on which they are growing. The holes are old and worn down as the plant wears it away to make space for itself in its new environment. It is relentless in its path.
